An 18-year-old woman was hurt in an unintentional shooting Saturday evening in northwest suburban Streamwood, police said.

About 7 p.m., the woman was shot in a home in the first block of Redwood Court, according to a statement from Streamwood police.

She was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The shooting was determined to be “an isolated incident with no threat to the public,” but detectives are continuing to investigate.
