A man was shot to death Saturday while he was sitting at his kitchen table in the Archer Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Andres Rivera, 58, was eating at his kitchen table just after 8 p.m. in the 5200 block of South Kolin when shots fired from the street tore through the front door and struck him in the head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Rivera, who lived in the home, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:36 p.m., authorities said.

A police source said the shooting was possibly gang-related, but it was not clear if the man was the intended target.
