Six garage burglaries on the Northwest Side in less than two weeks earlier this month have prompted police to issue a community alert.

According to police, the burglaries occurred:

-in the 5500 block of West Pensacola between 6 p.m. June 8 and 7:30 a.m. June 9;

-in the 4300 block of North Marmora between noon June 12 and 8 a.m. June 14;

-in the 5100 block of West Patterson about 12:55 p.m. on June 16;

-in the 5400 block of West Giddings between 10:50 p.m. June 18 and 10:50 a.m. June 19;

-in the 3900 block of North Natchez between 10 p.m. June 19 and 8 a.m. June 20;

-and in the 6300 block of West Haft about 11:20 a.m. on June 20.

In each case, suspects got into the garage through an unlocked door and took construction tools, bicycles, lawn equipment, air compressors and a snowblower, police said.
