SHARE Pedestrian fatally struck by SUV in Posen

A south suburban pedestrian died Thursday morning after he was hit by an SUV in Posen.

Vasilios Rodogiannis, 60, of the 12600 block of California Avenue in Blue Island, was pronounced dead at 6:40 a.m. Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Rodogiannis was struck by an SUV in the 14500 block of South Western Avenue in Posen, authorities said. An autopsy on Friday found he died of neck injuries and his death was ruled an accident.

Posen police could not immediately be reached for details on Friday evening.
