SHARE Plainfield gas station robbed at gunpoint

A person robbed a gas station at gunpoint Monday evening in southwest suburban Plainfield.

About 5:45 p.m., the male suspect went into the Shell at 16141 S. Lincoln Highway and demanded the clerk give him money from the register, Plainfield police said in a statement.

The suspect was armed with a handgun and fled into a waiting car after the robbery, police said.

He is described as a white male between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, weighing 160 to 180 pounds, police said. He was wearing a Carhartt-style black hooded jacket, blue jeans and tennis shoes.
