MLB.com recently revealed that Cubs ace Jake Arrieta has his own sandwich named after him at local restaurant Marmalade.

According to MLB.com, Arrieta himself crafted the sandwich, which has become one of the restaurant’s most popular items.

Naming sandwiches – or anything edible, really – after popular athletes isn’t new. The trend has been occurring for decades. Because, you know, it’s not enough to cheer for your favorite athletes – you need to eat something named after them, too.
