Fish of the Week 1: Dream muskie

Dave Anderson of Worth caught a dream fish, a 49-inch muskie, from Indiana’s fabled Webster Lake on Saturday. He was fishing with Bill Weimar and Terry Mager.

“He was throwing a glittering bucktail (not sure which one) on 80-pound-test line, and caught the fish in about 5-6 feet of heavily weeded water,’’ Weimar emailed. “Fish struck about 15 feet from the boat. We all were very excited to say the least.’’

Make that the most.

FOTW, the celebration of big fish and good stories around Chicago fishing, appears Wednesdays on the Sun-Times outdoors page.
