GLENDALE, Ariz. — The White Sox optioned infielder Leury Garcia to AAA Charlotte and made six other roster moves Tuesday morning.

Garcia, left-hander Onelki Garcia and infielder Andy Wilkins were optioned to Charlotte; right-hander Frankie Montas was optioned to AA Birmingham; and right-handers Logan Kensing and Nolan Sanburn and lefty Joe Savery to minor-league camp.

The Sox have 44 players remaining in major-league camp, including 25 pitchers, four catchers, nine infielders and six outfielders.

Garcia, acquired fron the Texas Rangers in a trade for Alex Rios in 2013, spent his first full season in the majors with the Sox in 2014, hitting .166 and playing 73 games between third base, second base, shortstop, center field right field and one game as a pitcher. Garcia has been slowed by a sore shoulder in camp, but his chances of making the team were hurt when the Sox upgraded their utility-player depth by signing free agents Emilio Bonifacio and Gordon Beckham during the offseason.
