Three armed robberies have been reported in the last two weeks in the Wicker Park neighborhood.

Two suspects approached couples walking on the sidewalk, pulled out a handgun, forced them to lie on the ground, and stole their wallets and cellphones, according to a community alert from Area North detectives.

The robberies happened:

  • at 9:45 p.m. July 24 in the 2000 block of West Pierce;
  • at 10:45 p.m. July 30 in the 1900 block of West Evergreen; and
  • at 11:05 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of North Honore.

The suspects are described as two black men between 18 and 20, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10, 120-140 pounds and wearing black hooded sweatshirts that obscure their faces, police said.
