A teen boy and man were shot in the Lake View neighborhood on the North Side early Friday.

The two, ages 16 and 25, were outside in the 3200 block of North Sheffield about 3:17 a.m. when they heard gunshots and felt pain, according to police.

Both suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and were taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. Their conditions had stabilized.

The shooting was the third in the neighborhood in the last seven days, with the other two occurring in the 3600 block of North Recreation Drive and in the 3200 block of North Racine.

In 2015, Lake View saw one homicide and three nonfatal shootings, records show. The neighborhood has recorded seven shootings so far in 2016.
