The 100th Street bridge on the South Side will be closed for emergency repairs Tuesday morning, according to a statement from Chicago Department of Transportation.

Beginning 9:30 a.m., both leafs of the bascule bridge across the Calumet River will be raised and locked for at least two weeks while emergency repairs are made to one of the gears, CDOT said.

Traffic will be detoured to the bridge at 106th Street, according to CDOT.
