A man was shot Monday morning in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

The 28-year-old was walking at 9:41 a.m. in the 800 block of East 79th Street when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Chicago Police said. He suffered a gunshot wound to his back and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized.
