A man was found shot to death Monday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired at 12:42 p.m. and found 23-year-oldGeorge Parker lying on the ground in a vacant lot in the 300 block of South Keeler, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Parker, who lived in the same neighborhood,had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:59 p.m.,authorities said.

Additional details were not immediately available and no one was in custody Monday as Area North detectives conducted a homicide investigation.

The man, in his 20s, was outside in the 200 block of South Keeler Avenue when someone fired shots.
The four were in the 5200 block of South Green Street when someone opened fire. All were taken to a hospital in good condition.
