A man was shot Thursday evening in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side.

At 5:04 p.m., the 32-year-old was in the 10600 block of South Lafayette when someone walked up and shot him in his left thigh, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.
