A 54-year-old man shot his 26-year-old roommate in the neck on Monday night in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.

Just after 9 p.m., the men got into a fight inside a home in the 6300 block of South Eberhart and the older man pulled out a gun and opened fire, police said.

The younger was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

The 54-year-old was not in custody late Monday.
