A 16-year-old boy was shot Sunday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

He was walking west in the 6100 block of South Union about 1:30 p.m. when a short black male fired shots at him, according to Chicago Police.

The boy took himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
