A man was shot Thursday night in the Belmont Gardens neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 23-year-old was shot at 9:18 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up to him in the 4100 block of West Wellington, Chicago Police said.

A person in the vehicle fired shots in his direction, and he was struck in his groin, police said. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition.
