Two women were killed in a shooting while driving in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side Wednesday night, authorities said.

The women, ages 32 and 41, were driving north about 10:30 p.m. in the 5400 block of South Wabash when someone in another vehicle fired shots, according to Chicago Police. Both suffered gunshot wounds to the head and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The older woman was identified as Juliet Veronica Washington of west suburban Woodridge, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The younger woman was identified as 32-year-old Jeanine Dowell of the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood.

Autopsies Thursday showed both women died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner’s office.
