A 56-year-old man was shot early Sunday in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

At 5:38 a.m., he was standing in the 6600 block of South Evans when someone got out of a white sedan and opened fire, striking him in the right leg, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
