A 16-year-old boy was shot Wednesday afternoon in the South Side Calumet Heights neighborhood.

He was inside a vehicle at 12:06 p.m. in the 9300 block of South Clyde when someone fired at him from a gray sedan as it drove by, Chicago Police said.

The boy was shot in his back and took himself to Trinity Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said. He was later transferred to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for additional treatment.
