A man is dead and a woman in critical condition following a two-car crash early Saturday morning in northwest suburban Ingleside.
About 12:10 a.m., deputies were called to a traffic crash in the area of Route 134 and North Robin Road, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office. Deputies found two vehicles with major damage.
Feliciano Hernandez-Saucedo, 23, had been driving a 2002 Acura TL west on Route 134 when it veered into the oncoming lanes and hit an eastbound 2000 Buick Century head-on, according to the sheriff’s office and the Lake County sheriff’s office.
Hernandez-Saucedo, who lived in Ingleside, was not wearing a seatbelt and was dead at the scene, authorities said. An autopsy Monday indicated that he died of blunt-force injuries from the crash, but toxicology testing was pending and his death remained under investigation Wednesday.
A 72-year-old Round Lake woman who was riding in the Buick was critically injured, while the 72-year-old Round Lake man who was driving suffered minor injuries, the sheriff’s office said. They were both taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
