A 76-year-old woman was found dead early Saturday after a fire broke out at an apartment in the North Side Edgewater neighborhood.

Firefighters responded about 2 a.m. to the fire in the 6100 block of North Kenmore and found the woman dead, according to Chicago Fire Media Affairs and Chicago Police.

No other injuries were reported, fire media affairs said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities said.
