A 27-year-old man died Sunday afternoon after being wounded in a shooting a day earlier in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood.

Jason Rodriguez was in a vehicle about 3:50 p.m. Saturday when someone walked up to him in the 900 block of North Richmond and shot him in the neck and chest, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 1:42 p.m. Sunday, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
