Man shot to death in West Pullman

Erik McNeal, 54, was approached by an unknown person who fired shots at him, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 54-year-old man was shot to death Sunday in West Pullman on the Far South Side.

About 8:25 p.m., Erik McNeal was in the 12100 block of South Loomis Street when an unknown person approached him and fired shots, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

McNeal was struck multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

An autopsy conducted Monday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. His death has been ruled a homicide.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate the shooting.
