A person was killed after being hit by a vehicle Saturday on Lake Shore Drive near Museum Campus.

Mohamed Salah Ali was trying to cross traffic when he was hit about 7:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes near McFetridge Drive, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with “severe head trauma” and pronounced dead, authorities said.

An autopsy released Sunday confirmed he died from his injuries and ruled his death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in East Garfield Park.
