NBA Draft Lottery 2020: Start time, TV schedule and more

The Bulls and 13 other teams are vying for the ping pong balls to bounce their way Thursday night.

The 2020 NBA Draft Lottery will be held Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. CT following Game 2 of the Bucks and Magic’s first-round series inside the Orlando bubble. The teams are vying for the top four picks and a chance to select top prospects such as LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman.

This will be the second year that the NBA operates the lottery under flattened odds for each of the teams. The Warriors, Timberwolves and Cavaliers, who finished with the league’s bottom three records, each have 14% odds of winning the top pick.

The Bulls, who finished with the seventh-worst record in the NBA, have a 7.5% chance at the No. 1 pick and a 23.4% chance of leaping into the top three. The Grizzlies, who are at the bottom of the scale, will send their first-round pick to the Celtics unless it falls in the top six, which has just a 2.4% chance of happening.

Ball, Edwards and Wiseman have largely dominated the top of the draft rankings in one order or another. LaMelo, the younger brother of Lonzo Ball, and Edwards, a talented guard from Georgia, both bring size, athleticism and scoring upside to the table. Wiseman, who briefly played at Memphis, ranks as the top big man in the draft.
