A 21-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.
The man was seated in a vehicle about 2:20 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Chappel Avenue when another vehicle pulled up alongside them and someone inside began firing shots, Chicago police said.
He was struck in the head and neck and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
He was identified as Jalen Parker by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.
The other vehicle fled the scene, police said.
