Four children and two adults were injured in a rollover crash Tuesday afternoon on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

The driver of the car lost control and it flipped over and came to rest on the left shoulder near 47th Street about 3:35 p.m., according to Illinois State Police.

Two adults and four children were transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.

The left and middle northbound lanes were closed until about 4:30 p.m., state police said.

The cause of the crash was unknown, according to state police.
