Man charged with February fatal shooting in Brainerd

A man has been charged with fatally shooting another man in February in Brainerd on the South Side.

Cartez McGary, 23, was charged with one count of first-degree murder for the shooting death of Lesean Long, Chicago police said.

Long was found unresponsive in front of a home Feb. 28 in the 9100 block of South Emerald Avenue, police said.

McGary was arrested Wednesday and identified as the person who shot and killed 32-year-old Long, according to police

McGary was scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
