DETROIT — The injured left ankle of Brandon Marshall became a problem for the Bears receiver early against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.
Marshall had a nine-yard reception on the Bears’ first play from scrimmage, but went to the Bears’ sideline immediately after it and briefly met with trainers.
It was the start of a tough day for Marshall, who finished the game, but missed plays because of his ankle. Marshall had six catches on 11 targets for 42 yards in the Bears’ 34-17 loss at Ford Field.
“An ankle injury is one of those things, you’ve got to deal with,” said Marshall, who injured his ankle in the Bears’ 56-14 loss against the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 9. “It’s hard to get it 100 percent, so it’s one of those things.”

The Bears didn’t practice in the shortened week. But according to the Bears’ official estimations on their injury report, Marshall would have been limited if they did.
Marshall did make an impressive block on the Bears’ first touchdown, a 10-yard screen to receiver Alshon Jeffery (nine catches, 71 yards, two TDs).
“I just wish I could have helped the team out a little more,” Marshall said, “so this one’s really tough.”
