Chicago Bears’ inactives: Who’s in/out vs. Kansas City Chiefs?

The Bears scratched Akiem Hicks on Saturday and need to play it smart with other veterans.

Wide receiver Taylor Gabriel hasn’t played in a month, and his season is likely over.

Bears coach Matt Nagy said nothing would change in terms of personnel or strategy now that the playoffs are beyond reach, but the team appears to be taking a long-term perspective on some players.

Most notably, they decided to hold out defensive tackle Akiem Hicks. He played through an elbow injury last week, but there’s little reason to risk anything with him now.

Here are the Bears’ inactives tonight against the Chiefs:

OL Corey Levin
RT Bobby Massie (ankle)
WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion)
TE Bradley Sowell

DT Akiem Hicks (elbow)
DL Abdullah Anderson
DB Michael Joseph

That means the Bears will play cornerback Prince Amukamara despite a hamstring injury that kept him out of parts of practice. There was a thought that without playoff stakes attached to this game, they would hold him out and start Kevin Toliver.
