The nation’s 100 top-grossing independent restaurants include 10 in Chicago and the suburbs, according to a new ranking by Restaurant Business magazine.

New York tops the list with 27, and Las Vegas has 20 — including No. 1 Tao Asian Bistro.

The Chicago-area restaurants, with estimated annual revenues:

No. 8 — Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, Near North Side, $22,397,732.

No. 10 — Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab, River North, $21,000,000.

No. 18 — Bob Chinn’s Crab House, Wheeling, $17,208,566.

No. 31 — Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House, Near North Side $15,485,723.

No. 42 — Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, Rosemont, $14,420,693.

No. 47 — Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse, River North, $13,800,000.

No. 57 — Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, Oak Brook, $13,137,712.

No. 58 — Shaw’s Crab House, River North, $13,100,000.

No. 59 — Quartino Ristorante & Wine Bar, River North, $13,000,495.

No. 95 — Greek Islands, Greektown, $10,500,000.
