Two robberies happened between June 9 and June 12, 2019, on the South Side.

Police are warning South Side residents after a pair of robberies was reported recently in Bronzeville and Hyde Park.

In each case, at least one man approached a person from behind and knocked them to the ground before taking their property and fleeing in a gray sedan, Chicago police. In one incident, the suspect displayed a gun.

One robbery happened at 11:11 p.m. June 9 in the 1200 block of East 53rd Street, and the other about 10:55 p.m. June 12 in the 500 block of East 41st Street, police said.

The suspect is described as 19 to 25 years old, standing 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds, police said. He had a fade hair style and was wearing a white jacket with blue and red stripes.
