Woman fatally shot in West Garfield Park

Officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert for gunfire found the 18-year-old shot in the right side of her head in the 4200 block of West Van Buren Street, police said.

A woman was killed in a shooting Sunday in West Garfield Park on the West Side.

Officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert for gunfire found the 18-year-old shot in the right side of her head at 10:51 p.m. in the 4200 block of West Van Buren Street, according to Chicago police.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified her as Lazarra Daniels of Lawndale.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
