A 53-year-old man from Munster was shot to death Monday morning in an apartment building in Hammond, Indiana.

He was identified as Michael Fromm by the Lake County coroner’s office.

Officers responded about 10:10 a.m. to a building near Rimbach and Stateline avenues and found a male who was fatally shot, Hammond police spokesman Steve Kellogg said.

The home was known to be associated with narcotics, Kellogg said. Additional details weren’t released.

Autopsy results remained pending further investigation, the coroner’s office said.
