Man killed in East Garfield Park shooting

An Austin neighborhood man was fatally shot in a drive-by Monday afternoon in East Garfield Park.

Tyran Evans, 42, was shot by someone in a vehicle as he stood outside in the 300 block of North California Avenue, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The 42-year-old was struck in the abdomen and arm around 3 p.m., police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrest was announced.
