Cyndi Lauper today announced her Detour Tour, in support of her upcoming album “Detour” (due out May 6), on which the singer delivers a dozen covers of classic country songs.

The tour makes a Chicago stop on May 16 at the Chicago Theatre, 175 N. State. Tickets (40-$95) gon on sale at 10 a.m. March 12 at ticketmaster.com and the theater box office. A fan club pre-sale begins at 9 a.m. March 8. (Code word: CYNDITOUR2016)

“Detour,” recorded in Nashville, features iconic country artists such as Vince Gill, Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris.
