Schedule for the Week of February 14, 2011
On Monday, the President will travel to Baltimore County, Maryland to speak to students at Parkville Middle and Center of Technology. Education Secretary Arne Duncan and OMB Director Jack Lew will join the President for the visit where he will lay out key priorities in the 2012 Budget and discuss the importance of responsibly investing in education to prepare our children to be competitive in the global economy.
On Tuesday, the President will honor recipients of the 2010 Medal of Freedom in a ceremony at the White House. The Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honor, is awarded to individuals who make an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.
On Wednesday, the President will meet with state legislators at the White House. Later, the President will deliver remarks at the White House on the America’s Great Outdoors initiative.
On Thursday, the President will attend meetings at the White House. In the afternoon, the President will travel to the West Coast.
On Friday, the President will visit Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon. While at Intel the President will tour the world’s most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility as well as learn more about Intel’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education programs.
