SHARE Bears add DT Tupou to practice squad

Desperate for help at defensive tackle after Henry Melton and Nate Collins were both lost for the season with knee injuries, the Bears on Tuesday added Christian Tupou to the practice squad.

The USC alum spent training camp with the Bears, playing in all four preseason games.

To make room, the Bears terminated Aston Whiteside’s contract. The defensive end had spent most of 2012 on the Bears’ practice squad.
