'Dibs' chairs for sale on Craigslist

Over the past few days, one North Side resident has collected about 350 chairs found “being abandoned on the streets.”

Now this resident is selling them on Craiglist for $5 a pop, “regardless of condition or smell.” That includes wood, metal, folding and office chairs, according to the listing.

All are “great for bingo halls, AA meetings and even your own backyards!” it said.

All also, judging by the photos attached to the listing, had been used to call “dibs” on shoveled-out parking spaces around the neighborhood.

We get it. Dibs chairs can be obnoxious. But isn’t this technically stealing, which is, um, illegal?

What do you think of the dibs chair seller — Chicago’s version of Robin Hood? Or clever criminal?
