WATCH: 'Dead' man wakes up in body bag at funeral home

The coroner may have left him for dead, but Walter Williams was very much alive and kicking. Literally.

Williams was pronounced dead at 9 p.m., placed in a body bag and sent off to Porter and Sons Funeral home in Lexington, Miss., according to WAPT News.

A few hours later, workers were getting ready to embalm him when things turned into a scene from a horror movie. Williams, still inside the zipped-up body bag, began kicking in an attempt to get out.

The undead man was then taken to the hospital and family members say he’s happy to be alive, while the funeral home director says it’s the first time he’s seen anything like it.

And what about the coroner who declared him dead? He suspects that Williams’ pacemaker may have stopped working — and came back to life after Williams was pronounced at the scene.
