The death of a man who fell from a building in the Gold Coast neighborhood late Tuesday morning has been ruled a suicide.

Chicago Police were called about 11:30 a.m. after 48-year-old Michael D. Ostrander fell from a building in the 200 block of East Chestnut, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Ostrander lived on the same block and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy Wednesday found that he died from the injuries he suffered in the fall, and his death was ruled a suicide.
