A former Porter County Sheriff’s Department employee is under investigation by Indiana State Police in a theft case.

State police said they were contacted Thursday by the Fraternal Order of Police lodge in Porter County, Indiana to investigate an allegation of theft against the former department employee.

Additional information was not released due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, police said.
