A man was shot Friday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side near the city’s border with Oak Park.

The 26-year-old was walking through an alley about 8:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Austin when he heard gunfire and was struck in his left leg, Chicago Police said.

He was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
