A man was shot in the buttocks Friday evening in the South Side Park Manor neighborhood.

The 35-year-old was walking on the sidewalk at 6:52 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Prairie when someone walked up to him, took out a weapon and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the buttocks, and his condition was stabilized at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
