A man was shot in his apartment early Sunday in the South Chicago neighborhood.

About 4 a.m., a male followed the 27-year-old from the street into his residence in the 8700 block of South Burley and shot him multiple times through a closed door, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the back and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. His condition was not immediately known.
