A shooting in Roseland wounded two people — one fatally — Tuesday on the Far South Side, police said.
About 2:16 p.m. Jaylin Ellzey, 15, and a 23-year-old woman were standing in the 200 block of West 113th Street when someone fired shots from a vehicle, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Ellzey, of Roseland, was hit in the head, abdomen and lower body, and the woman was struck in the chest, authorities said. They were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where the boy was pronounced dead. The woman was in serious condition.
No one is in custody, and Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
