Jim Karp came back from opening week of fishing in northern Minnesota and found this giant morel, a sure sign the end is near.

But a good one to end on.

Morel of the Week, a celebration of finding morels around Chicago outdoors, runs on the Sun-Times outdoors page on Sundays when apt, generally through May.

To submit MOTW, find me on Twitter (@BowmanOutside), Facebook (Dale Bowman) or email (straycasts@sbcglobal.net). Well, I am likely done running MOTW for this spring, unless something unbelievable comes along.

Now, waiting on somebody to begin finding unbelievable mushrooms this fall.
