SEEN ON THE SCENE: A recent sighting at the SPiN Chicago ping pong social club (co-founded by Oscar winner Susan Sarandon) was Cubs pitcher Jason Hammel, joined by his wife, Elissa. … Speaking of SPiN, Brit singer-songwriter Blood Orange and the American synthpop project Porches were a huge hit at the club, giving an energetic performance after their Pitchfork show. … Blood Orange (AKA Dev Hynes) also dined with a huge group of pals at RM Champagne Salon. … Meanwhile, Pitchfork headliner Sufjan Stevens was spied late-lunching at Nellcote, where the indie band also showed up DJ-ing at a pre-Pitchfork brunch party. … Among those on hand for the big opening of the PRYSM nightclub were the Hawks’ Marian Hossa, Scott Darling and Duncan Keith, plus “Empire” star Bryshere Y. Gray (Yazz) and the Bears’ Kyle Long. … Celeb sightings at Joy District recently have included NHL legend Denis Savard and Big N’ Rich. … Celebrity chef and TV personality Tim Love was seen dining at Del Frisco’s steakery on Oak Street. Ditto for the Cubs’ Jason Heyward. … RPM Steak sightings have included newly-minted Bull and Chicago native Dwyane Wade and his actress wife Gabrielle Union, plus separately new Bulls player Rajon Rondo, “Empire” actor Trai Byers and ex-NFL player Simeon Rice. … Cubs relief pitcher Spencer Patton, along with his family, dined at Harry Caray’s on Kinzie. While at the popular eatery, Patton checked out Harry Caray’s new seasonal beer: “Syne Randberg,” inspired by the way the late, great Harry would mispronounce the name of his favorite player, Ryne Sandberg. Anyway, besides the fun name, Patton like the beer so much — he ordered a second one. … Also at Harry Caray’s River North home base, WGN morning show mainstays Paul Konrad and Pat Tomasulo enjoyed a hearty lunch, joined by a couple of their show’s fans. While at lunch, Konrad and Tomasulo saw the restaurant’s new display dedicated to the late, Hall of Fame sportscaster Jack Brickhouse — that included his old gold broadcasting blazer with the WGN 9 logo on it. Also in the display is the telegram from the famous WGN broadcaster Bob Elson, dated March 14, 1948. Considering Brickhouse’s encyclopedic knowledge of all things sports-related, Konrad and Tomasulo were amused by Elson’s wired note: “Remember if anyone asks — you have a thorough knowledge of baseball.”
