Lohan in mad dash to finish community service — and avoid jail

While Lindsay Lohan has not been in the headlines recently, this mad dash of hers — to complete community service, in order to avoid going to jail — sure sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

The actress has to fulfill her commitment by Wednesday or else risk being thrown back in the clink. The actress claims she tried to complete it all while in London doing a play, but that scheduling, being sick and other complications screwed things up for her.

As first reported by TMZ, LiLo was supposed to do 30 days community service by Nov. 6 but only got half of that commitment completed.

The judge then allowed her an additional period of time (ending Wednesday) to get it all done. Among Lohan’s further excuses: The London Community Volunteer Services agency in England was closed for two weeks, making it impossible for her to fulfill her duty.

Oh yes, and then she went to … Bora Bora (!!) and proceeded to get sick.

Anyway, Lohan promises to be in court Wednesday and get it all straightened out. As readers will recall, this community service detail is due to her 2012 reckless driving case when she slammed her Porsche into the back of an 18-wheeler.
